Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Books Fixer ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute the End-User License Agreement (EULA) for the App and govern your use of the App and its connection to Intuit QuickBooks Online via Intuit's official API.

2. Description of the App

Books Fixer is a private, single-user web application designed to help the authorized owner review, analyze, and repair their QuickBooks Online bookkeeping. The App provides:

• Read-only financial report visualization (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, etc.)
• Automated bookkeeping issue detection (Red Flags, Scanners)
• AI-powered analysis and repair guidance (via OpenAI)
• Step-by-step checklists for month-end and year-end closing
• Decision trees and workflows for common QuickBooks repair scenarios

The App is a private internal tool. It is not listed on the QuickBooks App Store, is not offered to the public, and is not a commercial product.

3. License and Permitted Use

The App owner grants a non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use this App solely for the following permitted purposes:

• Reviewing and analyzing QuickBooks Online data for the authorized user's own businesses
• Identifying and repairing bookkeeping errors in QuickBooks Online
• Internal accounting and financial management for the authorized user's own entities

You may not:

• Share, sublicense, or resell access to the App to any third party
• Use the App to access QuickBooks data belonging to clients or third parties without explicit authorization
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the App's source code
• Use the App in violation of Intuit's Developer Terms of Service or QuickBooks API usage policies

4. QuickBooks Online Integration

The App connects to QuickBooks Online via Intuit's official OAuth 2.0 API using the com.intuit.quickbooks.accounting scope. By using this feature, you also agree to be bound by Intuit's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

The App accesses QuickBooks data in read-only mode only. It does not:

• Create, modify, or delete any transactions, accounts, or records in QuickBooks
• Submit payments or initiate financial transfers of any kind
• Access QuickBooks Payroll API or QuickBooks Payments API

You can disconnect the App from QuickBooks Online at any time from the QB Connect page within the App. You can also revoke access directly from your Intuit Developer account or QuickBooks Online settings.

5. No Financial or Accounting Warranty

The AI-powered features use OpenAI's language models to generate suggestions and analysis. These AI responses:

• Are provided for informational purposes only
• May contain errors or inaccuracies
• Do not constitute professional accounting or tax advice
• Should be reviewed and verified by a qualified accountant before acting upon them

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. In no event shall the App owner be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to:

• Financial losses resulting from reliance on App-generated analysis
• Data loss or corruption
• Service interruptions or downtime
• Errors in QuickBooks data retrieval or display

7. Security Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your QuickBooks Online account and Intuit credentials. You should:

• Keep your Intuit account credentials confidential
• Notify the App owner immediately if you suspect unauthorized access
• Disconnect the App from QuickBooks if you believe your credentials have been compromised

8. Termination

Access to the App may be terminated at any time by the App owner. Upon termination:

• All stored OAuth tokens will be deleted from the server database
• The App's access to your QuickBooks data will be revoked
• You should also manually revoke access via your Intuit account settings

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from the use of this App shall be resolved in accordance with applicable federal and state laws.

10. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the App following any modification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
